His Majesty the fourth Druk Gyalpo's Birth Anniversary and BIFA Day Celebration
Bhutan India Friendship Association (BIFA) Samdrup Jongkhar Chapter celebrated BIFA day at Nganglam, Pema Gatsel, conceding with the birth anniversary of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, King Jigme Singye Wangchuck, on November 11, 2024, with a celebration emphasizing the enduring bond between Bhutan and India.The occasion also highlighted the long-standing friendship between Bhutan and India, showcasing the deep cultural and historical ties that have united the two neighboring countries over the decades.The celebration featured cultural performances by local artists, traditional Bhutanese and Indian dances, and music reflecting the shared heritage of the two nations.The event included speeches from distinguished guests, emphasizing the importance of the Bhutan-India partnership and expressing gratitude to His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo for fostering peace and prosperity in Bhutan. In continuation to the events we introduced Marathon that brought together enthusiastic participants from various age groups, 500 individual from India 200 individual participated in the events. And to make the successful and remember all time we BIFA team arranged to all the participating with TShirt, refreshments and breakfast since the event's start time was 6.00 AM. Attractive prizes and gifts were awarded to winners in each category. Additionally, consolation prizes were given to 28 individual participants to recognize their effort and enthusiasm.This annual celebration not only pays tribute to Bhutan's beloved monarch but also serves as a testament to the strong diplomatic and cultural connections between Bhutan and India.

On August 21st, 2024, members of the Bhutan India Friendship Association, Samdrup Jongkhar Chapter, visited the historic Pagla Baba Mandir in mela bazar. This visit was part of the association's ongoing efforts to foster cultural appreciation and understanding between Bhutan and India. The temple, known for its architectural beauty and spiritual significance, provided the BIFA members with a deeper insight into the religious traditions of the region. The visit included a guided tour, where the history and cultural importance of the temple were shared, followed by prayers and offerings. This experience not only enriched the members' knowledge of Indian heritage but also reinforced the shared values of spirituality and devotion that connect the two nations.

The Bhutan India Friendship Association's Vice President, along with two distinguished Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) from Barama and Tamulpur Constituencies, engaged in a ceremonial scarf exchange. This act, steeped in tradition, symbolized the deep-rooted friendship and mutual respect shared between Bhutan and India. The gathering at the ICP Gate was marked by a sense of unity, with speeches emphasizing the importance of cross-border cooperation and cultural exchange.
